ICA is a not for profit organisation, all fees, commissions, sponsorship and other income received are strictly used to deliver ongoing benefits and services to our members.

 

1.   ICA Buying Group

Candy Bar: Enjoy a range of exclusive member price discounts on the best brands across food and beverage categories for cinema.  Our members can opt in to as many supplier arrangements as suits their business needs. Designed in consultation with Keith Maloon from Leisure Management Australia, the ICA Buying Group provides fantastic benefits:

 

 

Cinema Operations: Engage with our Preferred Suppliers on a range of essential services and supplies including technical support, projectors, xenon lamps, screens, point of sale and theatre management systems, gift cards and insurance – with more to come!

 

2.   My Cinema Promotions and Special Events

 

Members can opt in’ to planned national promotions and marketing campaigns. In the 2018 – 19 financial period ICA secured over $65,000 in prizes for consumer promotions run throughout our member cinemas.

 

We are always working with film distributors for promotions on the big blockbusters and niche Australian films. We have an established My Cinema consumer website so your customers can find out the latest information and what deals are where across our member sites.

 

My Cinema Premiere

Members can enjoy offering their customers special event preview screenings to drive word of mouth for particular movies. A series of movies are identified each year with opportunities communicated to ICA members.

 

My Cinema Select

My Cinema Select launched in 2016, with the aim to bringing limited release movies to independent cinemas across Australia. ICA supports Australian and independent title releases particularly across regional Australia.

 

My Cinema Charity

With the community at the heart of everything we do, ICA holds regular charity events in support of the Mark Safaty Cinema and Performing Arts Benevolent Fund. A donation is made from every ticket sold to these events.

 

ICA Conference

Members receive one complimentary pass and additional discounted registration fees to the annual ICA Conference. This is the premier business forum in Australia and New Zealand that addresses challenges and business needs of the independent cinema industry.

 

3.    Industrial Relations and Business Advisory Helpdesk

ICA have partnered with national law firm, Holding Redlich for the provision of cinema specific workplace relations advice and legal services for its members. Holding Redlich has extensive experience in the film industry and is ideally placed to help ICA and its members to achieve their workplace relations objectives. Holding Redlich provide advice that is practical, accessible, prompt and cost effective.

 

Free Employment Helpdesk

In addition to the group-wise legal rates offered to members, Holding Redlich operate a free industrial relations helpdesk service through the ICA member website. ICA members can lodge employment enquiries to the Holding Redlich Team, who will respond either by phone or email (depending on the complexity of the enquiry) within 72 hours.

 

Access employment contracts, policies and workplace documents

At no extra cost ICA members also access a full suite of employment contracts, policies and workplace documents including a cinema work health and safety manual prepared by Holding Redlich for exhibitors to adapt for their business.
